Another Successful Year at The Pinner Show!
We were glad for the slightly cooler temperatures this year, and happy to see that the show was still so well attended – a record attendance of around 5,000 people.
We certainly had another busy day on the Pinner Local History stall. We were joined on the stall by the Heath Robinson Museum, and it was great to see such interest in the museum as well.
Our Metroland display certainly generated a lot of discussion!
We had several members with us on the stand throughout the day and had some really interesting conversations, including with the local police and PCSOs. Our memory game started lots of conversations about the famous people who were born or have lived in Pinner. And talking of famous people we had many of you tell us how much you enjoyed the Michael Rosen evening (and how you would like him back for a part 2!).
Many visitors took a list of our upcoming talks so we hope to see plenty of people there.
As well as the many conversations we had we also sold several books, which we hope you will enjoy over the winter months you can still buy here if you did not get a chance at The Show.
We were all very pleased that the mayor was able to share time to come and talk to us as well as having his photo taken.
Thank you to everyone that came to talk to us, as well as the PLHS helpers that made it all possible: Phillip Snell (and his sons), Jennie Youle, Pat Clarke, Michael Clarke, Michael Treisman, Kathy Fry, David Butler, Roy Jakes and Sharon Holland.
And best of all, The Rotary Club is expecting at least £5,500 profit which will be distributed to a number of Pinner Rotary supported charities including Mind in Harrow and Purple Community Fund.
